STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
The school has different organizations/student clubs to address the variety of abilities and talents. No student may organize a club or organization without the knowledge and approval of the School Director. A group of five or more constitutes a club. Gangs, fraternities, sororities, organizations, or memberships in any of these formed within or outside the School and are not recognized or registered in the Director’s Office are outlawed and the members are punishable either by dismissal or expulsion from the school.
Student Clubs or Ministries are interest clubs which are temporary in nature. They vary from year to year. Only three (3) student organizations are considered regular or permanent – the Supreme Student Government, the Junior Student Government, and staff of the Phos Alethia.
- The Supreme Student Government (SSG) – this is the highest student organization established by the school to assist the school in its programs. The SSG does not operate independently but is supervised by an adviser appointed annually by the Director. All plans have to be approved by the Director before these may be carried out.
- Junior Student Government (JSG) – this is the elementary version of the SSG but it does not function independently from the SSG even if it has its own adviser appointed annually by the School Director. This organization functions under the umbrella of SSG. Aside from initiating its own projects at the elementary level, it in fact also supports and implements projects sponsored by the SSG.
- The Phos Alethia – this is the official name of the school paper. Phos and Alethia are derived from two Greek words which mean Light and Truth, respectively. Staff members of the Phos Alethia are appointed every school year. They work under the supervision of an adviser appointed by the Director. All articles are first screened and approved by the Director before publication and circulation.
